Retired Instructors Personnel and Spouses (RIPS)

Overview

Welcome to the RIPS web page! RIPS provides opportunities for UNT retirees and their spouses to maintain a connection to their university and to spend fun time with other retirees and spouses.

Purpose

RIPS is a nonprofit entity established in the early 1980s with the following goals:

  1. Promote social events that provide fellowship opportunities for retirees and activities that further the University's well-being.
  2. Encourage active participation of retirees in the life of the University.
  3. Seek educational opportunities and privileges.
  4. Disseminate relevant information to retirees.

Membership

All retired UNT faculty, staff, and their spouses are eligible for RIPS membership. Retirees are encouraged to actively participate by joining the list of active members. This is a simple procedure that can be accomplished online. Click here to register as a RIPS member online.

RIPS is affiliated with the UNT Emeritus College which generously provides support for this web site and for RIPS programs.

Programs

RIPS has traditionally sponsored several events during the year. The UNT Advancement Office, the Center for Achievement and Lifelong Learning, and Colleges and Departments are all helpful in cosponsoring events. The RIPS Events page provides information about coming RIPS programs.

Contacts

The RIPS Contacts page helps to contact the organization or members of its Steering Committee.
